Job Summary


We are seeking a conscientious and proactive Accounts Administrator to join our small close-knit team within a long-standing family run company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing financial records, both on the accounts payable and receivable side ensuring the accuracy of financial data. Proficiency in accounting software such as Merlin Business Software or Sage is essential for this role. This position plays a crucial part in supporting our financial operations and maintaining our commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities



Manage and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as Merlin Business Software or Sage. Accounts receivable and sales invoice routines, processing of credit notes, handling account queries and liaising with customers. Processing accounts payable transactions in a timely manner, ensuring all invoices are accurately recorded and paid. Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements as required. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication regarding financial and administration matters. Conduct regular bank and nominal reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. Respond to enquiries from customers and suppliers regarding account discrepancies, payment issues and and account administration. Credit control to ensure efficient cash flow. Maintain organised documentation for all financial transactions and ensure compliance with company policies. General office duties and handling of incoming telephone calls if required. Willingness to support and assist during staff absence / holidays.

Requirements



Proven experience as an Account Administrator or similar role within an accounting environment. Ideally AAT part qualified. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software such as Merlin Business Software or Sage is essential. Familiarity with accounts payable / receivable processes and procedures. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Strong Microsoft Office Skills particularly Excel. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines.
