Burton and South Derbyshire College are looking for a detail-driven and pro-active
Accounts Assistant
to join our friendly Finance team! If you're eager to grow your career in accounting, this is your chance to learn, develop, and make an impact in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with day-to-day financial transactions, including purchase ledger, sales ledger and payroll entries
Reconcile customer and supplier accounts
Process invoices using our OCR software
Support month-end and year-end financial processes
Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers
Provide general administrative support to the finance team and wider networks
Engage with BSDC policies pertaining to sustainability and learner focus
Requirements
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility, approachable attitude and willingness to learn
Desirable
Previous experience in a similar finance or accounts role
Knowledge of basic finance and payroll processes
AAT qualification (or working towards) or equivalent demonstrable experience
Applicants should be qualified to, or willing to work towards, Level 2 English and Maths. Evidence of qualifications is required.
