Accounts Assistant / Office Administrator
to join our close-knit team. This is a varied and hands-on role combining accounting support with general administrative tasks to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the office.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, trustworthy, and adaptable, with strong numerical skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Support
Processing sales orders and sales invoices, including online orders
Compiling daily product lists for fulfilment or orders
Ordering stock for home deliveries and farm shop
Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage 200 to support month end
Monitoring accounts receivable and payable and resolving customer and supplier queries
Assisting with VAT returns and payroll preparation/ clocking in systems
End of day cashing up
Office Administration
Answering telephone calls and managing general enquiries
Filing, scanning, and maintaining both digital and paper records
Ordering office supplies
Assisting with HR documentation, such as holiday tracking, onboarding forms and monitoring returns
Supporting other team members with ad-hoc administrative tasks
Person Specification
Essential
Minimum GCSE Maths and English
2 Years proven experience in a finance or office administration role
Able to manage workload across multiple companies or departments
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong time management and organisational skills
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
Discreet and professional approach when handling sensitive data
A proactive, self-motivated attitude with a willingness to learn
Desirable
Experience in a family-run or SME environment
Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero / Sage / QuickBooks
Familiarity with Shopify
Knowledge of VAT, payroll, and basic HR processes
Experience with intercompany accounting or multi-entity setups
