WePack is a dynamic and growing company dedicated to providing packaging solutions. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Financial Manager to oversee our financial health and operations, ensuring long-term success and supporting our Managing Director in driving business performance.
Main Purpose of the Job:
To oversee WePack's financial health and operations, manage the accounts team, and ensure all financials, including monthly management accounts, analysis, financial reporting, and risk management, are handled efficiently. Provide accurate and timely information to support the Managing Director in driving business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Office Management:
Manage a small accounts office and finance processes.
Maintain day-to-day efficiencies with a hands-on approach.
Implement audit procedures to maximize efficiency.
Plan to ensure deadlines are adhered to.
Identify anomalies and errors using experience and knowledge.
Balance Sheet Maintenance:
Manage fixed assets, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
Handle stock and work-in-progress valuation.
Adjust prepayments and accruals.
Reconcile VAT, wages, PAYE, NI, and pensions.
Manage HP/loan account reconciliations, reserves, and funding.
Profit and Loss Account:
Prepare monthly management accounts.
Conduct analysis and review of GP, EBITDA, NP, and variances.
Report to the Managing Director and UBT.
Liaise with Sales on job profitability.
Period End Processing:
Manage month-end and year-end processes.
Liaise with external accountants.
Credit Control:
Assess the creditworthiness of customers.
Review and action overdue debts.
Maintain and action claims on the Allianz Trade portal.
Supporting Business Growth:
Provide financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, and maintain cash flow.
Payroll Management:
Liaise with Payroll Bureau/IRIS Software.
Prepare and submit monthly adjustments.
Manage overtime, commission, OSW, bonus payments, SSP, SMP, and unpaid absences.
Approve and action BACs payments.
Prepare and post monthly journals.
Submission Deadlines:
Adhere to financial regulations and deadlines for VAT, PAYE/NI, self-assessment, HMRC/P11D, and PPT.
Process Management and Support:
Assist and support stakeholders and staff in training as required.
Provide Sage and Nulogy support.
Mitigate and rectify errors.
Audit procedures to maximize efficiency.
Management Support:
Work closely with the Managing Director and senior stakeholders.
Handle day-to-day issues and administration.
Ensure compliance with company legal and regulatory requirements.
Prepare documents and reports for UBT.
Assist in growth planning, including GBS.
Provide commercial advice and analysis on financial performance.
Support the implementation of new systems within the business.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a similar financial management role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, IRIS).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
