About the role



We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable

Accounts Technician / Payroll Administrator

to join our finance team. This dual-role position is ideal for someone with strong numerical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and experience managing payroll processes.

You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance department.

Experience within the insurance industry is an advantage.

Accounts Technician Duties:



Assist with accounts payable and receivable processing Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts Prepare and post journal entries Support month-end and year-end closing procedures Maintain accurate financial records and documentation Assist with VAT returns and other statutory filings Liaise with external auditors and support audit preparation

Payroll Administrator Duties:



Process weekly/monthly payroll for employees in compliance with statutory requirements Maintain payroll records and ensure accuracy of employee data Handle payroll queries and provide timely responses Prepare and submit payroll-related returns (e.g., PAYE, PRSI, USC) Ensure compliance with employment legislation and revenue guidelines Coordinate with HR on employee changes affecting payroll

About you



You are self-motivated, with a strong attention to detail. The following outlines the qualifications and experience levels required:

Qualification in Accounting, Payroll, or related field (IPASS, or equivalent) Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Pivot tables and data analytics Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role Strong knowledge of payroll systems and accounting software Excellent organisational skills Ability to manage confidential information with discretion Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
