We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Activities Manager / Head of Activities to oversee and enhance our Activities operations within the senior care sector. This pivotal role requires a strong understanding of assisted living, nursing homes, and care homes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient and varied activities coordination while maintaining high standards of service for our residents and their families.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of activities planning and encourage residents to join in meaningful activities whilst maintaining their independence, choice and dignity, to enable them to lead as full and active life as possible.
Oversee the creation and implementation of a stimulating and varied programme of leisure activities and social events, inside and outside of the home, for residents to enjoy.
Manage a team of Activities Coordinators working with each new resident to understand their likes/dislikes, abilities and needs and to evaluate regularly.
Manage the engagement of the local community in the daily lives of residents by initiating contact with local community groups enabling residents to partake/continue with hobbies and interests as desired.
Experience
Proven experience in a managerial role within the senior care sector, particularly in assisted living or nursing home environments.
Strong background in activities management, with an emphasis on caregiving or dementia care.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
Familiarity with Alzheimer's care practices is advantageous.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team while also leading initiatives independently.
