Summary



We are seeking a dedicated Business Support professional to join our team in Buckshaw Village. This role is vital in ensuring smooth administrative operations across HR and Health & Safety and supporting our commitment to excellent customer service.

Human Resources Support



Provide administrative support across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, contracts, variations, and leavers. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in line with GDPR requirements. Support recruitment processes, including advertising roles, arranging interviews, and preparing offer documentation. Assist with absence management, including recording sickness and supporting return-to-work processes. Support performance management processes, including appraisals and probation reviews. Respond to routine HR queries, escalating complex issues where appropriate. Assist with training coordination, including booking courses and maintaining training records. Support payroll processes by providing accurate and timely HR data.

Health & Safety Support



Assist in maintaining Health & Safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments in line with UK legislation (e.g. Health and Safety at Work Act 1974). Support the coordination and recording of risk assessments, incident reporting, and near-miss logs. Maintain H&S records, including training, inspections, and equipment checks. Assist with H&S audits and inspections, ensuring actions are tracked and followed up. Support the organisation of health and safety training and inductions. Act as a point of contact for basic H&S queries and escalate concerns as required.

General Business Support



Provide administrative support to managers and the wider business as required. Prepare reports, documents, and correspondence. Support continuous improvement of HR and H&S processes and systems. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Skills Required:



Essential



Previous experience in an administrative or business support role. Experience supporting HR and/or Health & Safety functions. Good working knowledge of UK employment practices and basic H&S requirements. Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately. Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desirable



CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) or equivalent HR qualification. IOSH qualification (e.g. IOSH Working Safely or Managing Safely). Experience working with HR or H&S systems.
