We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Administrative Officer to join BCU's Careers and Student Opportunities team.
The role will provide a high level of administrative and project support across the team, contributing to supporting student and graduate progression into highly skilled employment and other positive destinations.
There are several key tasks the post holder will carry out:

• Diary management and administrative support for the Leadership Team.
• Organising meetings, taking and circulating minutes.
• Booking travel, conferences and accommodation.
• Supporting the organisation and delivery of Careers Fairs and events including inviting employers, booking rooms, refreshments, welcoming guests, gathering feedback.
• Raising purchase orders, keeping financial records, ordering stationary, resources and materials.
• Liaising with suppliers and renewing contracts.
• Reviewing and approving job vacancies and opportunities for students via the vacancy management system.
• Communicating with students, staff and employers in a professional manner.
• Responsible for departmental Health and Safety, DSE and risk assessments (training will be provided).

In addition, the role provides general wide ranging administrative support to the team which includes stock control, creating promotional materials, organising and supporting events.
This role will be suitable for a candidate with the following skills and experience:

• A degree or be able to demonstrate equivalent work experience and relevant skills.
• Using Microsoft Office and other software to produce reports and presentations.
• The ability to keep and maintain accurate records, manage, and report on data using Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a range of stakeholders including via email, face-to-face and over the phone.
• The ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Attention to detail.
• Experience of financial administration including raising purchase orders and renewing contracts.

You will be joining a friendly and supportive team of 70 staff, who are committed to delivering high standards of service and supporting students and graduates succeed and develop successful careers. You will work alongside another Administrative Officer, providing support to each other and covering leave.
The role will be based at City Centre campus but may include occasional travel to other university sites.
