Background

The ISSMGE promotes international co-operation for the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in geotechnics and environmental applications.

Established in 1936 and having 20,000 members in 90 Societies around the world. The President is based in Lebanon and the secretariat, (the Secretary-General and the Administrative Officer), will be based in London.

Responsibilities

Email, letter, and telephone;

Ensuring confidentiality;
Administrative duties,
Maintaining bank accounts;
Calculating the annual subscription dues;
Ensuring payments are processed
Reconciling incoming payments, issuing receipts;
Ensuring income and expenditure records conform to regulations
PA to the Secretary-General:

MS Office;
Support in organising presentations;
Keeping diaries, identifying and scheduling events, travel arrangements, receiving visitors;
Assisting the Secretary-General in all activities;
Understand all matters relevant to the Secretary-General.

Person Specification

  • Graduate calibre
Administrative experience
Good spoken, written and communication skills
Friendly, professional and approachable manner.
Ability to use MS Office
