JOB DESCRIPTION - AFTER-SCHOOL PLAYWORK ASSISTANT

1. Responsible to: The Playwork Manager

2. Duties and Responsibilities:

2.1 Support the Playwork Manager and their Deputy as required.

2.2 Assist with the provision of safe, creative play opportunities and a programme of care and play for 4 - 12 year olds.

2.3 Assist with the setting up and clearing away of a variety of play materials and help to supervise and encourage children at play.

2.4 Where required, assist with the supervision of homework.

2.5 Help deal with minor problems, accidents/sickness and report any serious incident to the Playwork Co-ordinator.

2.6 Be aware of all Health and Safety and First Aid procedures.

2.7 Be aware of the administrative procedures within the Kidz Patch set-up.

3. Training

Undertake any relevant training as may be considered necessary by the Management Committee (training may take place during out of work hours).

4. Wage Rate

The wage rate on commencement will be 12.21 per hour and will be reviewed annually.

5. Hours

Afterschool Club, three days a week and five days a week - 1.30 pm to 6.00 pm daily

During school holidays the successful applicant may be required to work additional hours for which appropriate remuneration will be given.
