Overall Purpose of the Job



To perform maintenance, repair and overhaul tasks on assigned aircraft landing gear, wheel, brake and propeller accessory components. To produce a reliable, quality, airworthy product at a budgeted cost and turn time, while providing the highest quality workmanship for all tasks accomplished.

Main Duties and Responsibilities



Carry out repairs, inspections, overhaul, and tests to Aircraft Landing Gear and Propeller accessory components utilising hand tools, power tools, ground support equipment, test equipment and technical documents. Submit parts requests accurately, needed to complete the work. Research, prepare, and complete all documentation in accordance with Company approved procedures, manufacturers' maintenance manuals and CAA, EASA and FAA regulations with minimal supervision Ensure that all the work performed within the allocated area of responsibility is in compliance with appropriate technical and regulatory requirements and with scope of Company approvals Provide accurate repair, overhaul, inspection and defect compilation to allow the estimating department to accurately price each component task. Read, understand and carry out tasks in accordance with Work Instructions, Maintenance Manuals (CMM), (AMM), (SRM), Operating Procedures and Customer Specification requirements Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Process Paperwork and Parts Control Use any specialised tooling or test equipment that may be required as part of the inspection, testing, replacement or servicing of a system or component Undertake any other duties as required together with general housekeeping and cleaning duties such that the workshop and associated areas are maintained in an efficient, clean and safe condition, providing for a safe and efficient working environment Carry out any other reasonable task required by management

Person specification



Experience Essential



Working knowledge of EASA, UK CAA & FAA regulations and requirements associated with aircraft maintenance Demonstrable experience working in the aviation or aerospace industry or a recognised apprenticeship. Ability to read and comprehend technical publications, engineering drawings, engineering procedures and component maintenance manuals to perform duties in compliance with customer requirements General knowledge of precision measuring tools with skills and prior working within an aircraft or aircraft components maintenance environment Application and experience of aircraft maintenance routines Good attention to detail

Desirable



Knowledge of personal computer systems. MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) Broad experience of practical aircraft maintenance Good grounding in H&S policies and procedures and risk assessments Ability to work independently and as part of a team; undertake the job role with minimal supervision Organised with good administration skills

Qualifications



English and Math GCSE or equivalent

40 hours per week (Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00)
