Bouygues Energies & Services currently has an exciting opportunity for an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) Operator to join our Facilities Management team at our office in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a permanent full-time position working 12 hour shifts on a 4 on, 4 off alternating shift pattern of days followed by nights: 0700 - 1900 and 1900 - 0700.

The role:

  • Reporting to the National Operations Centre Team Leader.
  • Responding to Fire, Intruder and Panic alarms received through our alarm receiving software. Protecting our diverse portfolio of commercial, residential customers and VIPs. Response requires the delivery of clear and accurate information to emergency services in a confident manner.
  • Investigate remotely activated CCTV transmissions through our CCTV monitoring software, gathering as much information as necessary to assist the authorities with criminal convictions and the prevention of crimes such as criminal damage, arson and theft.
  • Effectively follow processes and instructions, managed in line with Company procedures and policy.
  • Confidently communicate urgent issues to the Team Leader or shift Controllers where necessary.
  • Provide safety and reassurance to Bouygues operatives and employees that work alone. Operatives use a mobile phone location application linked to the Operations Centre servers in case of emergency.
  • Assist with covering shifts to ensure continual coverage, excellent rates of overtime are available.
  • Work in conjunction with the secure helpdesk to provide continuous support to Bouygues facilities management operations.
  • Provide a key role in the command and control of incidents, maintaining accurate incident logs in emergency situations.
  • Working an alternate 4 on, 4 off shift pattern of days and nights, 07:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00.
The person:
  • Previous experience of working within a service desk, operations centre or other high-volume call environment is essential.
  • Grades C or above in Mathematics, English and ICT at GCSE level are essential
  • Must have a flexible, can-do approach to work and willing to undertake training when necessary.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people, both verbally and in writing.
  • React appropriately under pressure, prioritisation and the ability to maintain concentration is crucial.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office 365 packages essential.
  • Any experience of using MAXIMO or MUSE would be an advantage, but full training will be given
  • Willing to complete training SIA licence for public space surveillance (PSS CCTV operations).
