An apprentice Compressor Service/Installation engineer is required for a rapidly expanding business based in the, Exeter area of Surrey.

The Company are a leading supplier of compressed air systems across the UK. We have a solid team of staff who cover all areas of installation, servicing, and maintenance of the equipment to all our customers, that span across various industries including industrial, dental, commercial and leisure plus many more.

Benefits include paid apprenticeship, on site training, backed up by full apprenticeship scheme set up by the British Compressed Air Society (BCAS) gaining an NVQ in compressed air and vacuum, with some of the course being undertaken in a college environment.
20 days holiday plus bank holidays, workplace pension, lots of flexibility towards working hours, and a Company van with fuel card, mobile telephone, uniform, specialist tools required to do the job and all PPE.

Standard 40 hours per week on average, with some flexibility on start time per day.

You will be working alongside compressed air specialists with a wealth of knowledge which they will share with you, to allow you to learn the trade and grow in confidence.

Once confident you will be out in the field taking on the daily challenges compressed air throws at us.

Occasional nights out may be required, hotels pre-arranged and paid for by the office.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Air Compressor Service Engineer



Routine service and breakdown maintenance of air compressors and ancillary equipment

Fault finding and diagnosing of issues of equipment and systems

Carry out both mechanical and electrical repairs as required

Report back to management on additional works that may be required

Identifying and providing the customer with improvements, upgrades, or general aftercare of products

Completion of all job sheets using software on a mobile phone provided by the Company

Flexibility towards nationwide travel to customer sites when required

On call will be required on a rotational basis - once qualified

All jobs are scheduled by the planning team, so engineers have a forecast of jobs and location. On occasions this will not be the case due to unexpected works required to be done on a reactive basis.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience



Knowledge of compressors and associated equipment advantageous

Training background in plant maintenance, mechanical or equivalent not essential but advantageous

Some experience of fault finding and diagnose issues both mechanically and electrically beneficial

Flexible approach towards travel

Excellent communication and customer facing skills

Salary: Experience / Qualifications dependant.

Overtime and bonuses available.
