Assembly Team Leader - Evening Shift (2pm-10pm)



The Assembly Team Leader is responsible for leading and coordinating the evening shift assembly team, acting as the on-shift representative of the Head of Assembly. The role ensures production is delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards, with hands-on responsibility for HF welding and CNC routing operations.

Key responsibilities



Lead and oversee evening shift assembly (2pm-10pm) of Astor-Bannerman products, including baths, sinks, HF-welded and CNC-routed components. Take day-to-day operational responsibility for HF welding and CNC routing equipment, ensuring safe use and adherence to process instructions. Manage workload from the assembly schedule/whiteboard to ensure smooth job transitions and delivery priorities are met. Allocate work, monitor progress and drive performance to achieve a minimum 90% on-time delivery KPI. Monitor quality, accuracy and workmanship, resolving issues and escalating where required. Carry out first-line checks on equipment safety and functionality, escalating maintenance issues as needed. Ensure all company systems, processes, safe working procedures and policies are followed on shift. Maintain accurate production, quality and shift handover records. Support waste reduction, cost control and continuous improvement initiatives. Coach, support and develop team members during the evening shift. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety. Escalate operational, quality or safety issues to the Head of Assembly.
Reporting Line:

Reports directly to the Head of Assembly

Technical Skills



Good understanding of assembly and manufacturing processes in a production environment Ability to read and follow engineering drawings, BOMs and work instructions. Awareness of quality standards and inspection methods. Working knowledge of health & safety and safe systems of work in manufacturing.

People Skills.



Proven ability to lead, supervise and motivate a small production team. Confidence to make on-shift decisions and take ownership during evening operations. Ability to allocate work, set priorities and manage performance against targets. Strong communication skills, particularly for shift handovers and escalation. Coaching mindset - able to train, support and develop team members. Calm, professional approach when handling issues or pressure.

Pay: 29,000.00 per year
