Job Accountabilities:
As an Assembly Team Leader, you are responsible for managing daily operations on the production floor. This includes plan adherence, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Key responsibilities include:
Supervising and leading a team of manufacturing personnel in a high-quality production environment (monitor team building and down times - breaks etc).
Ensuring the team adheres to production schedules and deadlines (monitor efficiencies and highlight any concerns).
Monitoring production standards and quality control measures.
Training new team members and ensuring that all team members are competent in their roles.
Maintaining accurate records of production data, including volume produced, materials used, processing RMAs, and any deviations from standard processes.
Implementing continuous improvement strategies to enhance production efficiency and safety.
Enforcing strict safety guidelines and company standards.
Key Tasks and Duties:
The Assembly Team Leader is tasked with several crucial duties that ensure the smooth functioning of production processes.
These include:
Coordinating with other departments to ensure equipment availability, raw material supply, and timely completion of production targets.
Conducting regular team meetings and toolbox talks to communicate targets, strategies, and company news.
Assisting in the development of budgets for the manufacturing department.
Identifying areas for improvement and initiating projects aimed at lowering costs and improving quality.
Conducting firewall sign off at packing.
Evaluating team performance and providing feedback and coaching to improve productivity (OTIF focused) and product quality (RFT Focused). Carry out Return to Works and appraisals.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality systems.
Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (5S, Root Cause Analysis etc)
