Brief Description

Provide the examination, assessment and monitoring of drainage to deliver compliance against company standards. Support the production of route asset management and investment plans.

About the role (External)

Key Accountabilities

1. Lead the requirements for examination and undertake evaluation, assessment and risk management of drainage assets. Manage compliance of examination and evaluation of drainage assets against requirements of standards.

2. Provide engineering input to the standards and specifications for drainage examinations and assessments.

3. Maintain comprehensive and accurate asset records.

4. Direct the implementation of monitoring systems and undertake the review of monitoring results and other control measures.

5. Support the development of route specific plans including all maintenance and renewal activities and asset strategies, providing the prioritised investment work bank. Support the inclusion of all investment items into appropriate programmes and track through to completion including approval of programme changes.

6. Provide support to the production and prioritisation of the route business plan. Support the production of remits for investment schemes.

7. Monitor trends arising from examinations and evaluations, assessments, asset capability and failure precursors and confirm that action is specified and taken and participate in investigations of incidents.

8. Liaise with community relations to support the resolution of drainage issues impacting on neighbours and third parties. Provide engineering input to the specification and management of drainage examination contracts. Investigate and resolve technical and quality issues with suppliers.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential

\xc2\xb7 HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in relevant subject.

\xc2\xb7 Substantial experience of drainage asset examination and assessment

\xc2\xb7 An understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques

\xc2\xb7 Awareness of Construction Design and Management Regulations

\xc2\xb7 Working towards membership of a relevant professional institution

Desirable

\xc2\xb7 Degree in a relevant subject

\xc2\xb7 Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer

\xc2\xb7 Member of a relevant professional institution
