The opportunity
London College of Communication (LCC) is looking for a motivated individual with excellent cataloguing skills to work within our Archives on a 12 month fixed term basis
You will contribute to the development and delivery of high quality and student-focused archives and museum services, which support the academic activities of the University and its constituent Colleges.
Specifically, you will participate in an ongoing programme that seeks to catalogue museum and archive collections using internationally recognised standards, such as ISAD(G) in liaison with collections staff.
You will also be appraising, cataloguing and promoting an extensive range of printed ephemera, design and comic collections held by the Archives and Special Collections Centre (ASCC), in support of a planned move in 2026/7.
You will create realistic plans to achieve the agreed deadlines and objectives of the role and provide guidance and support to both colleagues and the diverse users who access the collections.
There may be limited opportunities to work from home dependent on operational needs.
Your profile
With a demonstrable interest in art and design archives, you will have a either a postgraduate qualification in archives and records management or equivalent experience and knowledge of archival cataloguing best practice and work in an archives environment.
Ideally, we are seeking a candidate with demonstrable knowledge and experience of working to international standards in cataloguing and collections care. You will have excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as an understanding of the academic context of the University.
