Job Purpose



To support the Bar Manager in the day-to-day operation of all stadium bars, ensuring smooth and efficient service across Match Days and non-Match Day events. You will lead teams of supervisors, bar staff, and casual workers, upholding service standards and compliance with health and safety regulations while driving operational excellence.

Key Objectives



Assist in overseeing all bar operations across the stadium to ensure a consistently high level of service. Motivate and develop a capable and engaged bar team. Provide excellent customer service, resolving any queries or complaints effectively. Support inventory management by placing orders, reducing waste, and maintaining stock levels. Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards, including licensing laws. Oversee till operations and support achievement of sales and profitability targets. Deliver effective training to staff on service standards, product knowledge, and health & safety. Monitor and maintain product quality and consistency across all bars.

Key Responsibilities (KPIs)



Support the Bar Manager in delivering high levels of guest satisfaction. Drive revenue growth across bar areas, increasing spend per head (SPH) and conversion rates. Improve speed of service and queue management. Lead large teams across multiple bars during events and matchdays, ensuring consistent delivery. Ensure compliance with all Ashton Gate processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Uphold high standards in Environmental Health Officer (EHO) compliance and health & safety. Assist in stock control, including monthly stock takes. Aid in the ordering, delivery, and proper storage of drink-related stock. Ensure consistent product quality throughout the venue.

Essential Skills & Experience



Proven experience in a supervisory bar role within a stadium, arena, or high-volume venue Strong leadership and people management skills Customer-focused with a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences Solid knowledge of stock control and ordering systems Understanding of health & safety procedures and alcohol licensing laws Calm under pressure in fast-paced, high-volume environments Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and event days as required

Desirable Skills



Experience in a stadium or large-scale event venue Hold a personal licence or willingness to obtain one Knowledge of Gross Profit (GP) margins and strategies for increasing profitability Experience handling large-scale beverage stock

Health & Safety Responsibilities



Ensure adherence to all health and safety procedures, maintaining appropriate documentation Ensure all staff have received relevant training Report incidents, accidents, and hazards as required Complete and regularly review departmental risk assessments

Human Resources Responsibilities



Ensure employees understand role expectations and operating parameters Participate in appraisals and provide constructive feedback Monitor and support holiday allocation on a quarterly basis Lead on recruitment of bar staff in accordance with best practice
