We are looking for an

Assistant Catering Manager/ Cook

to join our friendly, professional team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join North Devon's leading multi award winning outdoor activity centres. This post is a multi site role covering Skern lodge and The ultimate adventure centre.

We provide catering for both residential staff and customers which can be up to 500 meals per day.

Our aim is to provide quality home cooked healthy meals using fresh local produce where possible.

We provide a shop and bar service.

Main duties will include;

Working in the kitchen department

assisting the Catering Manager and Head Chef in the smooth running of the kitchen. Working in the bar and shop and assisting with stock takes.

General kitchen duties to include being a team player, maintain health and hygiene regulations, washing up & cleaning duties and assisting with the day to day running of the kitchen.

Cooking of breakfast, lunch and dinners

Food preparation including sandwiches, light meals & salads

Serving breakfast, lunch and dinners to customers and colleagues
Some experience and qualifications would be preferred but training can be provided.
Benefits include; meals on duty, uniforms provided.

Flexible hours,

30-40 hours per week split shifts Breakfast 7-11 and Dinner service - 3 to 7.30 pm.

Some straight shifts. Potential to assist in our shop and bar bar shifts 5.30 to 10.30pm weekends in rotation.

Essential skills

Relevant hospitality qualifications Level 2 or 3 food hygiene certificate Organised, professional and of smart appearance The ability to take responsibility, make decisions, work on own initiative The ability to lead but also work as a team member
Customer service skills

Excellent communication Remain calm under pressure.

Friendly, positive and approachable manner.

Great customer service.

Time management skills.

Ability to work unsupervised, using own initiative and deliver quality work

Enthusiasm to develop your skills and knowledge

Excellent communication with your team and other departments

Flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends depending on business needs.
