Job Description

BHC is one of the UKs leading Structural Steel Fabrication and Construction companies, supplying, and erecting fabricated steel nationwide within the UK and Ireland.



We currently have a vacancy for a Part time Assistant Construction Administrator, working 3 days per week, preferably Monday, Wednesday and Friday to support our Construction Team in the smooth day to day co-ordination of all projects. This role involves working closely with the Construction Administrator, Project Managers, and Construction Managers to ensure site and administrative needs are met, in line with project schedules and programme demands.


Main Responsibilities:




Assist with scheduling plant equipment, labour, and materials to ensure site requirements and certifications are met. Support the hire, allocation, and compliance of plant equipment across all sites, coordinating with the HSQE team and external testing providers. Monitor and maintain employee training records, certifications, and licence renewals; arrange training in advance and notify relevant personnel. Coordinate on-site inspections for lifting and plant equipment to ensure legal compliance. Maintain accurate site records including timesheets, work logs, expenses, and plant usage; liaise with site teams and managers to resolve discrepancies. Manage the site holiday planner and ensure adequate cover; arrange travel and accommodation for site personnel. Support weekly labour planning, attend planning meetings, and communicate updates to teams. Liaise with the Transport Manager on plant equipment movements. Assist in managing company vehicle trackers and follow up on any faults or discrepancies. Act as a point of contact for daily site issues, escalating to appropriate personnel when necessary. Participate in training sessions and occasional site visits to support learning and development.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an administrative role and be able to demonstrate the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail, and a high level of accuracy in handling data are essential.



You should be confident in prioritising a varied and fast-paced workload, while contributing positively to a team orientated environment.



Experience within the structural steel or construction sector is desirable but not essential. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to join a supportive team and develop their skills within a leading UK construction company.
