The Welsh Cheese Company is proud to champion the very best artisan cheeses made in Wales. We're excited to be opening our brand-new cheese shop and cheese & wine bar in Cardiff, and we're looking for a passionate and proactive Assistant Manager to help bring our vision to life.

The Role

As Assistant Manager, you'll be responsible for most of the day-to-day running of our new cheese shop and wine bar, helping to create a welcoming environment for customers and delivering an exceptional standard of service.

You'll oversee everything from customer service and preparing cheeseboards to team support, hygiene and cleanliness as well as maintaining consistently high presentation standards.

Key Responsibilities

Day to day running of the shop and wine bar Delivering outstanding customer service and product knowledge Leading a small team of colleagues Ensuring the shop is beautifully presented at all times Serving customers behind our cheese counter Preparing exceptional cheeseboards and other cold platters for eat-in customers Serving wine and other drinks to customers Managing stock levels, deliveries and merchandising Assisting in planning and delivering events and tastings Opening and closing the shop Occasionally running the shop single-handedly

What We're Looking For

A customer-focused, confident and friendly individual Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills High attention to detail in all aspects of the role Previous retail, food & drink or hospitality management experience is essential A passion for cheese, wine and Welsh produce is a big plus Welsh language skills are highly desirable

Hours

40 hrs per week including Friday and Saturday afternoons/ evenings.

Off on Sundays and Mondays

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to 30,000.00 per year
