Purpose of the Role
We are seeking to appoint an
Assistant Manager of HR
to support the delivery of high-quality HR services across all Scholars School System campuses. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role will assist in key HR operations including recruitment, compliance, employee relations, and administrative support, helping to ensure HR practices meet organisational, legal, and sector standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day operational support to the HR Manager across all generalist HR functions.
Assist in the coordination of recruitment and onboarding processes, including pre-employment checks and safeguarding compliance.
Maintain and update employee records and HR databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Support with issuing offer letters, contracts, and contractual variations.
Assist with employee relations matters including note-taking, document preparation, and informal case support.
Help ensure all HR activities comply with current UK employment law and safer recruitment practices.
Liaise with campus teams to support local HR needs and ensure inspection-readiness.
Collaborate with payroll and pensions administrators to support accurate and timely processing of employee data.
Assist in performance management coordination and monitoring.
Support the preparation of HR reports and metrics for the Senior Management Team.
Participate in internal audits and support external HR audits as required.
Undertake ad-hoc projects and tasks as directed by the HR Manager.
Requirements
Essential:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
CIPD Level 3 (minimum) or currently studying toward Level 5
Minimum 3 - 5 years of HR experience in the UK (experience in education or higher education preferred)
Solid understanding of UK Employment Law and Safeguarding requirements
Experience in international recruitment
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Desirable:
Experience in international recruitment compliance
Experience supporting HR audits and inspections
Familiarity with HR software or systems
Salary and Benefits
Salary: 28,000 - 35,000 per year (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Working Hours
:
9am - 6pm, on-site, full-time
Annual Leave: 28 days plus UK bank holidays
Incentives: Up to 5,000 in annual performance incentives (pro-rata, awarded quarterly upon meeting KPIs and successful probation)
Annual Increment: 3% salary increase per year after one year of service and continued KPI achievement
Occasional travel to other campuses required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: 30,000.00-35,000.00 per year
