Job Description

AWA is a multi-award-winning engineering consultancy of structural, civil and marine engineers, established in 1987. Operating from both Romsey and Bath offices, our 20+ strong team works with an array of clients and provides engineering services across multiple industry sectors.

We are currently seeking a proactive, full or part-time Assistant Office Administrator to join our team based at our Romsey office. The successful candidate will support the Accounts Manager and Office Manager with a variety of bookkeeping and administrative duties. This role offers variety and challenges, ensuring that each day is unique.

The role includes, but is not limited to, providing support with:

Administrative Tasks:



General office administration, record keeping and filing Answer and direct phone calls Greet visitors Purchasing supplies, refreshments and office sundries Typing of reports Archiving Support general office operations and team needs

Bookkeeping Tasks:



Routine finance administration, maintaining and organising financial records Daily bank reconciliation Credit Control - namely chasing clients for outstanding balances Supplier invoices and statement reconciliations Staff/office expenses Petty Cash control
Any other reasonable duty as requested by your line manager or a member of the Senior Management team.

Attributes required for the role;

Familiarity with Xero and Microsoft Office is an advantage, and be confident learning new software Strong numerical and analytical skills Capable of working as a team or independently Attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines. Flexible and adaptable, willing to take on a mix of bookkeeping and general administrative duties Prepared to work under the direction and support of Office and Accounts Managers Ability to support the engineering technical team in successfully completing tasks and fulfilling their responsibilities A proactive problem solver who is well organised and self-motivated with a 'can-do' attitude Able to remain calm and productive when working under pressure or managing tight timelines

Salary:



23,000 - 25,000 per annum, dependent on experience (pro rata for part-time hours)
