Assistant Manager / Events Manager

Mud Dock Cafe is an independent business that we started over 30 years ago. We now have an opportunity for an energetic and organised individual with a passion for hospitality and a strong background in a similarly busy brasserie-style environment to take on this exciting leadership role in our small team.

After a month working front of house and learning the ropes with the cafe team your role will progress to shift supervisor. You must be able to demonstrate strong organisational qualities at this stage and pay a meticulous attention to detail. You will then take - in due course - take on the Assistant Manager / Events Manager position.

We intend this progression from front of house service - shift supervisor role - Assistant Manager / Events Manager role to take a few months. You will then be expected to assist the restaurant manager in all aspects of cafe management and to manage large bookings, private events and weddings. Full training will be given in Mud Dock event planning once you reach this stage.

Experience:

You must have:

- Previous experience of team management in hospitality and bring this to your role from day one

- Knowledge of bar-tending, cellar management and coffee preparation

- Excellent understanding of food safety standards and regulations

- The ambition, enthusiasm, organisational and IT skills required to plan and co-ordinate private parties and weddings. Specific training will be given in this area.
