Job Description

We are a family run company that was established in 1974. In 2020 Kingsland Auctions went from weekly general Auctions to Online Auctions, selling a wide variety of stock from some of the high street's biggest names like Wayfair, Amazon, JD Williams, Very etc.

You will be working as part of a friendly team and will be helping with the day to day running of our busy weekly auctions that we are looking to expand and also our recently built offices and warehouse which is now open as a retail shop.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic individual to work with us. This role requires an organised person with strong communication skills, good attention to detail and confident to deal with customers face to face but mainly over the telephone.

We are using Sage 50 Accounts so the candidate would ideally have previous experience of working with this system or a similar system. This involves some invoicing, banking and credit control.

Your work as an Auction Administrator



You will be mainly responsible for the administration once an auction is finished as our warehouse team are responsible for making the auctions live. Below will be a breakdown of what the job could entail on a weekly basis.

Contacting buyers via email and telephone to book in collection and delivery slots once an auction is finished.

Answering of telephone and email enquiries, dealing with face-to-face enquiries all in a professional, confident and friendly manner.

To provide a high level of customer service to both buyers and sellers.

Invoicing, credit control and balancing of sales and the administration of sellers and buyers.

Payment and sending of invoices that is done through Xero so the candidate would ideally have previous experience of working with the system or similar system.

A good level of IT literacy is essential, with fast accurate typing/keyboard skills, and proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel and Sage.

Provide admin support to other staff.

Experience of cash handling and processing of payments.

With 3 to 5 different auctions finishing weekly, being able to multitask and work under pressure during busy periods.

The overall job will consist approximately 70% post auction work to 30% accounts.

Be able to liaise with other staff to ensure smooth running of all auctions.

Work accurately, be organised and good at setting priorities.

Good numeracy skills

Maintain knowledge to resolve issues.

Manage time and prioritise, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.

The ability to work under pressure on busy post auction days.

Working Hours



Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 9am - 5pm. We have flexibility around these hours. Potentially it may increase to a 5 day working week.

Occasional Saturday work will be available.

Hourly rate 12.75

GCSE Maths and English Grades A-C or equivalent. Business Studies an advantage. Administration experience of approx 2 years required.

Competitive salary that is dependant on experience.

Flexibility and willingness to work extra hours during busy auction periods, and available or some occasional Saturday work.
