Your Role as a Bank Day Shift Support Worker
As a
Day Support Worker
in our
children's residential home
, you will be a vital part of a caring, professional team. You'll support children and young people in their daily routines, help them develop life skills, and ensure they feel secure and understood.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing consistent, individualised care and emotional support to young people.
Building positive, trusting relationships that promote safety and wellbeing.
Encouraging personal, social and emotional development through activities and engagement.
Following care plans, safeguarding policies, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies.
Maintaining accurate records and reports on wellbeing, progress and daily activities.
Working collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals.
Providing practical support during daily routines, education, and leisure time.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Experience supporting
children or young people
(residential or similar setting preferred).
Patience, empathy, resilience and a genuine passion for helping others.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Understanding of
safeguarding
and
child protection
principles.
Flexibility to work structured rotas including some evenings or weekends.
A collaborative, positive approach to teamwork.
Desirable:
Level 3 Diploma / NVQ in Residential Childcare, Health and Social Care, or Children and Young People's Workforce.
First Aid training.
Experience supporting children with
complex or challenging behaviours
.
Full UK driving licence.
