Bar Manager - Windmill Tavern, Northowram (Halifax HX3)

We're relaunching the Windmill Tavern in Northowram, Halifax, and are looking for an experienced Bar Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant community pub at the start of a new chapter.

The Windmill will feature live entertainment, food service, and a large outdoor marquee for events - making this a varied and hands-on management role.

Hours & Schedule
- Full-time role, around 40 hours per week
- Core shifts: Tuesday to Saturday
- Typical hours: 12:00 - 20:00 on weekdays
- Saturday shifts may start earlier (e.g. 09:00-17:00 or 10:00-18:00)
- Occasional Sunday cover may be required
- Pub closed on Mondays

Pay & Benefits
- Salary: 28,000 per year (approx. 13.50 per hour, based on 40 hours per week)
- 28 days' paid annual leave per year

Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day running of the pub, ensuring smooth and professional operations
- Opening up and preparing the pub for service each day
- Cellar management, line cleaning, and stock control
- Ordering and managing drinks and food supplies from wholesalers
- Supervising and supporting bar staff during shifts
- Helping to deliver live entertainment nights, food service, and outdoor events in the marquee
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, service, and customer care

About You
- Previous experience as a Bar Manager / Pub Manager / Supervisor
- Knowledge of cellar work and confident handling line cleaning and barrel changes
- Organised and reliable - able to manage stock, orders, and shift rotas
- Flexible, hands-on, and willing to support across all aspects of pub operations
- Any experience in events, live entertainment, or food service would be a real bonus
