About the Business Development Manager role:
As a key member of the Myers Building & Timber supplies team, the primary aim of this role is to support the Branch Manager in achieving sales targets, operational & safe working environment compliance, and all aspects of commercial performance, in doing so, this position plays a vital role in achieving sales budgets and profit growth.
Duties and Responsibilities of our Business Development Manager:
Contribute to the delivery of the MBTS sales and margin targets whilst maintaining a value proposition for the customer.
Provide proactive leadership to branch colleagues communicating effectively, supporting training needs, aiding performance, and ensuring best utilization and engagement of the team.
Be the focal point of contact for supplier representatives , ensuring they are afforded time and assistance to achieve collaborative working partnerships.
Use Bistrack to drive the branch sales effort in collaboration with the branch manager & group sales function to support initiatives to address areas of improvement.
Maintain direct relationships with key MBS branch accounts; liaise proactively with customers on a day-to-day basis to fulfil their requirements.
Alongside the manager undertake responsibility for actions inclusive of ( but not limited to ) (a) identifying new opportunities to win new branch customers, (b) converting branch customers to new accounts, (c) developing relationships with account customers who have the potential to become MBTS branch accounts and (d) reverse declining spend.
Identify opportunities and implement plans to grow category participation, supported by the marketing, category manager and stock control teams.
Ensure customers receive the correct levels of engagement and service and thereby sustain customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Contribute to a proactive culture of H&S, ensuring everyone in the team complies with the Company HSE policies and procedures.
Establish SPAs for branch customers and ensure they are regularly reviewed & updated.
Attend meetings and group discussions where required.
Any other reasonable duties which may be required by the Company from time to time, as instructed by or under the direction of your line manager.
