About the Role



This position includes managing our Breakfast and After School Club during term time, with the potential to work throughout the year, with potential holiday hours.

Hours:


Term Time:

Monday-Friday, 7:00am-9:00am & 3:00pm-6:30pm

Holiday Club:

8-hour shifts (Monday-Friday)
Contract: Permanent, term-time with potential holiday hours
Children's age range: Reception to Year 6

About You - Ideal Candidate



Confident, good-natured, and highly organised Excellent communicator with strong leadership skills Solid understanding of safeguarding and health & safety Holds a

Level 3 childcare qualification

Minimum

2 years' experience in childcare

(leadership experience preferred) Able to build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and school staff Professional, proactive, and able to work under pressure Warm, engaging, creative, and committed to high standards of practice

Job Purpose



To lead a small team in providing a safe, inclusive, active, and fun environment for children across Early Years, KS1, and KS2 attending our Breakfast & After School Clubs.

Key ResponsibilitiesChildcare & Club Environment



Maintain high standards of care. Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all children, encouraging participation in a variety of stimulating activities. Uphold all Safeguarding and Health & Safety procedures. Promote a happy, engaging, and well-organised environment that supports children's development. Use creative and innovative ideas to enhance wraparound care provision.

Leadership & Staffing



Manage and supervise staff, delegating tasks effectively. Lead weekly staff meetings and promote a positive working environment. Support management with staff training, development, observations, and appraisal processes. Record staff hours and prepare information for payroll. Assist with finding staff cover in cases of sickness or emergency.

Administration & Operations



Ensure accurate records, including children's attendance and ad-hoc bookings. Maintain communication with admin and HR teams regarding staffing, updates, and payments. Complete administrative tasks such as registers, timetables, inventories, and incident logs. Report accidents, incidents, and concerns to senior management promptly. Oversee day-to-day logistics to ensure a structured, high-quality provision of care.

Food & Refreshments



Oversee snack preparation, ensuring hygiene and food safety standards are met. Carry out daily checks on food preparation areas, storage, and service. Submit weekly food orders to management. Promote healthy eating habits among children.

Essential Attributes



Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain) Right to work in the UK Minimum 2 years' experience in childcare Leadership experience (preferred) Strong interpersonal skills and professional conduct Ability to maintain accurate records Creative approach to planning activities Commitment to safeguarding and high-quality care Willingness to undertake necessary training

Preferable Qualifications



Paediatric First Aid (training can be provided) Level 1/2 Food Safety & Handling (training can be provided)

Employment will only be authorised once an Enhanced DBS check has been completed, references verified, and all required safeguarding checks have been passed.
