Jacqueline's Gems provides outstanding wraparound care for children attending our local primary schools. Our staff teams help us provide the very best childcare experience for all children in our care.

The ideal candidate for this role will be confident, good-natured, organised and have excellent communication skills. They must have a great awareness of safeguarding as well as health & safety.

The suitable candidate will hold a level 3 childcare qualification. The ideal candidate is also preferred to have two years of experience in a leadership role.

The opportunity has arisen for Before, After School & Club Manager. This position has the potential to operate

all year round

.

The hours available for this role during term times are 7.00 am - 9.00 am & 3:00 pm - 6:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Times during the holiday periods operate in shifts of 8 hours per day.

Contracted Monday - Friday during the school terms.

Children who attend the clubs will range from Reception to Year 6.

Job purpose:



To lead a small team in creating a safe, inclusive, active and fun environment for all children in Early Years, KS1 and KS2 that attend Breakfast and After School Clubs, during school terms and Holiday Clubs during the holiday periods.

Key responsibilities:



To maintain high standards of care for all children at Breakfast, After School and potentially Holiday Club. Oversee the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children at the clubs, inspiring them to participate in an exciting range of activities. To be always communicative and professional with children, parents/carers/guardians, colleagues and school staff. Continue to develop Wraparound care using innovative ideas to further activities and behavioural management strategies in an independent and proactive manner. To uphold Safeguarding and Health & Safety Policies at all times, ensuring that both children's and staff's safety and wellbeing is maintained to a high standard. Develop a deep understanding of relevant guidance and national standards for Out of School Care, food safety and handling, as well as the policies and procedures. Be responsible for communication for updates to HR team.

Staffing:



Manage and supervise the staff working, delegating tasks to uphold the most efficient practices. Be responsible for the organisation and presentation of weekly meetings to all staff. Help Management with the training and development of new staff, carrying out weekly observations and termly appraisals. Record staff hours and prepare information required for payroll. Record children's attendance and provide an accurate log of times including ad-hoc attendances. Be able to communicate with admin staff regarding records and outstanding payments etc.

Operations:



Ensure that there is a range of exciting activities throughout the week and term, ensuring a high-quality, structured and engaging provision of care. Be responsible for the completion of administrative tasks, including registers, timetables, and kit inventories. Be responsible for communication of accidents, incidents, concerns, and general updates to senior management.

Food:



Oversee and manage the preparation of snacks at the club, including clearing away and cleaning of facilities. Ensure food handling standards are being upheld and carry out daily checks of food preparation, storage, service, and organisation. Be responsible for providing weekly food orders to management.

Essential Attributes:



Hold or be willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS Check. Have the right to work in the UK. At least 2 years experience in childcare Experience in a Lead role would be advantageous. Confident in leading people and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues. Ability to work under pressure and be always professional. To provide a safe, stimulating, and happy environment for pupils To supervise staff & pupils, including arrival and departures. To supervise and help the setting up of playrooms and ensure that the setting is left clean and tidy at the end of each session (this may mean cleaning will be involved) To organise planning and the provision of a stimulating range of age-appropriate activities and ensuring the club is well-resourced and creatively setup To supervise logs for pupils' time of collection and name of the collector To supervise staff and monitor the safety of pupils and staff while in the building To monitor and make sure that all incidents of danger and accidents are logged by staff and that senior management and parents are informed in relevant procedures To ensure no pupils are left unsupervised at any time To ensure that the children receive adequate refreshments, and help promote healthy eating To monitor staff and assist the supervision of pupils during activities throughout their session To help find cover of colleagues in times of emergency/sickness Personal warmth to gain the confidence of pupils, staff, and parents Positive rapport with pupils and staff High standards of personal presence and presentation and attention to detail Ability to communicate concisely and sensitively with children, parents, and staff, including school Commitment to the personal development of pupils and to an ethos of respect of each other. Proven ability to develop effective professional relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parent Attitudes Ability to work co-operatively within a team Organised, energetic and able to self-direct Positive, enthusiastic, and energetic approach to life Ability to think creatively and imaginatively Committed to professional development and show a willingness to undertake appropriate training for this role and assist staff with theirs.

Preferable Attributes:



Paediatric First Aid (Can be provided) Hold Level 1/2 Food Safety & Handling certificate. (Can be provided)
