The WPP Shared Service Centre (SSC) is at the heart of WPP's operational excellence. We achieve significant efficiencies by consolidating activities, standardizing processes, and deploying advanced tools and technology. This strategic approach frees our agencies from transactional financial tasks, allowing them to fully concentrate on commercial activities, client management, and maximizing revenue and cost effectiveness.
Since 2021, our UK and India SSC teams have collaborated seamlessly, providing comprehensive services to WPP companies across the UK. We're on a global transformation journey, and this is your chance to join our dynamic UK team, contributing directly to the delivery of exceptional financial services.
You'll be part of our Accounts Receivable department, which includes Credit Control, Cash Allocation, and Billing. Our Billing team is critical, handling 300-400 million in monthly billing for over 1300 external clients and intercompany accounts across numerous WPP agencies.
As a key member of the team, reporting to the Senior Billing Specialist, you will collaborate closely with WPP companies and their clients. Your role will be instrumental in establishing efficient monthly billing practices, ensuring a smooth order-to-cash process, and providing top-tier administrative support.
What you'll be doing:
End-to-End Billing Management: Take full ownership of the "bill-to-pay" process for a portfolio of key, complex customers. Ensure all billing activities are complete, accurate, formatted to customer specifications, and submitted promptly.
Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings to discuss billing and cash collection reviews, fostering strong relationships.
Team Collaboration & Support: Provide essential support to the WPP SSC India billing team, helping them effectively manage billing queries, supporting documentation, contractual changes, client liaison, prospective sales, and timely cash collections with both internal and external customers.
Service Delivery Oversight: Collaborate with WPP SSC India to maintain service delivery in line with our Target Operating Model, documented Service Levels, and Key Performance Indicators. Identify successes and areas for improvement.
Audit Support: Assist with SOX audits and other internal/external audit requirements.
Process Improvement & Client Lifecycle: Work alongside the Senior Billing Specialist to onboard new clients and manage client exits. Contribute to testing, implementing, and documenting process improvements.

AR Specialist: You have a strong grasp of sales ledger principles and hands-on experience in Accounts Receivable (desirable)
A Few Things to Note:
London Travel: Expect occasional travel to our various WPP company locations within central London.
Adaptability: Flexibility to work additional hours occasionally will be valuable, especially during critical deadlines and month-end close.
