We are recruiting a part time Assistant Accountant to oversee our small finance team. Your primary focus is to ensure all financial information entered into Xero is carried out promptly and accurately to enable real-time financial reporting. The role requires a high level of attention to detail and a proactive approach to solving queries.
Responsibilities:
Daily Bank reconciliations - current account, PayPal and credit cards
Correctly allocating incoming customer credit card payments on a daily basis
Reconciling monthly accruals, prepayments and deferred income accounts
Preparing and submitting the VAT return
Posting the monthly journals including payroll, stock, prepayments, accruals
Ensuring all invoices & bills are posted to xero in a timely manner
Regularly reviewing the P&L to ensure all transactions have been correctly coded
Producing month end accounts and management reports
Processing supplier BACS payment runs
Collating all monthly payroll information and processing payroll payments along with ensuring timely payment of PAYE/NI to HMRC.
Providing support to the two other members of the finance team (sales and purchase ledger, credit control)
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
AAT qualified or part ACCA/CIMA qualified
Previous experience working in an SME
The ability to work to deadlines
Good knowledge of Excel
Previous knowledge of Xero is desirable
Previous knowledge of Fathom would be desirable
Level headed with a positive approach to problem solving
