A Book Keeper is needed to assist with all aspects of accounts, working for a thriving Truck rental & maintenance business in Aylesham.
This is a very hands-on role and requires attention to detail and a can-do attitude.
We use Xero accounting software system
Daily tasks include;
Posting of all receipts and payments through bank onto nominal ledger
Daily chase of any debtors falling due
Coding and posting of all purchase ledger invoices
Update excel cashflow daily with all receipts received and payments made
Weekly tasks include;
Prepare and pay weekly salaries for all staff
Ensure Inland Revenue and NEST pension payments are reconciled and paid
Prepare weekly supplier payment run
Update MD on any debtor issues arising
Reconcile all supplier statements
Monthly tasks include;
Reconcilitation of cashbook
Posting of month-end journals
Prepare first draft balance sheet and profit and loss for external Accountants to finalise
Add all new financing for vehicles to Xero and update excel spreadsheet
Reconcile and post credit card statements onto Xero
Other tasks;
Maintain staff holiday database
Prepare and submit qtly VAT returns and all annual returns
Liaise with Auditors in preperations for year-end accounts
Keep employee records updated and prepare any new starters joiner packs
Advise the MD on any financial or HR issues arising and give best practice advice

SALARY IS DEPENDANT ON EXPERIENCE
