Toast Properties Ltd is the lead company of five associated companies. It acts as an agent providing serviced accommodation to guests, coming to the area for both leisure and business. The companies have been growing rapidly.
The Bookkeeper will support the Finance Officer by:
Managing the entries to the Sales and Purchase ledgers
Ensuring that the information is available to reconcile all relevant nominal accounts
Person specification
Bookkeeping qualification: at least AAT level 2 or equivalent
Experience in maintaining accurate Sales and Purchase Ledgers
Experience in intercompany transfers
Experience in maintaining balance sheet items, particularly short-term assets and liabilities, would be an advantage
Experience of cloud-based accounting software.
Job specification
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers and journals, ensuring that all necessary supporting documentation is on file.
Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to ensure financial stability.
Maintain an effective filing system for financial information.
Support the Finance Officer to prepare monthly financial reports and assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
Support the Finance Officer in collaborating with external auditors during financial audits to provide necessary documentation.
Support the Finance Officer in ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
Assist in the implementation of new accounting software or systems as needed.
Provide support for any ad-hoc financial projects or tasks as required.
Conditions of employment
The successful applicant will be employed for twenty hours per week and will report to the Finance Officer.
She/he will be based in the Group's Head Office in Durham City. The specific hours worked will be agreed with the Finance Officer.
Training leading to higher bookkeeping qualifications will be supported by agreement with the Finance Officer and a Toast Director.
Salary will be negotiable depending on qualifications and experience. We expect the starting salary to be in the range of 25,000 to 27,500,000 p.a. pro rata but will be flexible for the right candidate.
