Job Summary


Stafford Rugby Club is more than just a rugby club -- it's a thriving multi-sport and hospitality venue with outstanding facilities that serve as a hub for the local community. We're looking to expand our team by recruiting either one full-time or two part-time Bookkeepers to help support the smooth and efficient financial operations of our busy club and vibrant hospitality business. The majority of the time you'll work Monday to Friday, but given the nature of the business it may be that you need to do some hours at a weekend on occasions. This is a great opportunity for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and enjoys being involved in the wider life of a dynamic organisation.

Reporting to the Honorary Treasurer/CFO, you will play a key role in our finance team, supporting both the sports and hospitality sides of the club. Training will be provided, and you'll work closely with a range of colleagues across the club.

Duties



Daily cashing up and till reconciliations Customer invoicing and debt collection Processing supplier invoices and arranging payments Bank reconciliation using QuickBooks Preparing VAT returns Verifying accounts and reporting anomalies to the CFO Payroll support: collating timesheets, maintaining salary and expense records Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements and annual accounts Supporting administrative tasks and compliance reporting (e.g. ONS returns) Liaising with team members across Events, Catering, and Facilities General bookkeeping and ad hoc financial duties as required

Skills



Proven experience as a bookkeeper Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software (essential) Understanding of hospitality, bar, or catering operations (desirable) Strong IT skills: Outlook, Excel, and Word A positive team player with great communication and organisational skills

Relationships



Across the different areas of the club you'll work alongside and support the following team members:

The Treasurer/CFO and Club Directors Events, Catering, and Facilities Managers Club staff, volunteers, customers, and suppliers
