We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Assistant Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all bookkeeping tasks. This role is essential for maintaining financial records and assisting with various accounting functions, making it a pivotal part of our organisation.
Duties
Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions in accounting software such as Sage, or Xero.
Assist in managing accounts payable, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and vendors.
Prepare and process invoices, receipts, and other financial documents.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure discrepancies are resolved promptly.
Support month-end closing processes by preparing necessary reports and documentation.
Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Provide administrative support as needed, including filing documents and maintaining organised records.
Experience
Proven experience in bookkeeping or a related field is preferred.
Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage, or Xero is essential.
Knowledge of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
