Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare a variety of baked goods such as bread, rolls, croissants and scones

- Follow recipes and instructions to accurately measure and mix ingredients

- Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure proper cooking and desired results

- Prepare and present baked goods in an appealing and attractive manner

- Ensure all products meet quality and freshness standards

- Take inventory of ingredients and supplies and place orders accordingly

- Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to food safety guidelines

- Train and mentor new employees on baking techniques and procedures

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 1 year experience as a baker in a professional bakery

- Knowledge of different baking techniques and methods

- Ability to read and follow recipes accurately

- Creative mindset with the ability to develop new and unique baked goods

- Strong attention to detail and time management skills

- Team player with excellent communication and organizational skills

- Must be able to lift and carry heavy items and stand for long periods of time

- Food safety certification is preferred but not required

Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are maintained throughout the baking process. Measure and mix ingredients accurately to create consistent products. Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure optimal results. Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate production schedules and meet customer demands. Experiment with new recipes and techniques to enhance the menu offerings. Assist in inventory management by tracking supplies and placing orders as necessary.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Baker or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or bakery setting. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Proficiency in food preparation techniques, including mixing, kneading, and baking. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also demonstrating independence when required. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in both presentation and taste. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings or late evenings as needed. A passion for culinary arts with an eagerness to learn new skills and techniques in baking.
