Job Overview

The Breakfast Chef / Cook is responsible for delivering high-quality, well-presented breakfasts to our customers each morning, ensuring a smooth and efficient service. This role supports the wider kitchen team by maintaining high standards of food preparation, hygiene, and organisation. During quieter periods, the Breakfast Chef / Cook will assist with prep work for other services, contributing to the overall success and flexibility of the kitchen operation. A collaborative, proactive approach is key to maintaining consistency and exceeding customer expectations.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook breakfast menu items to a high standard. Maintain and restock the breakfast fridge and ensure kitchen cleanliness. Support lunch service during busier periods as required. Assist with prep for other services during quieter times. Follow all recipes and methods provided with accuracy and consistency. Ensure excellent food presentation and uphold hygiene standards at all times.

Experience

Previous experience as a chef or cook, ideally with breakfast service. Experience working in a busy kitchen environment (desirable).

Skills

Ability to work well within a team and adapt to the needs of the kitchen. Confident following recipes and kitchen procedures. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards. Flexible approach to duties and working hours.

Qualifications

Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable; training can be provided). NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery or equivalent (desirable but not essential) Allergy Awareness
