: Squad Coach



Reports to: Charity Trustees

Purpose of the Role

The Squad Coach plays a key leadership role, guiding and overseeing all aspects of the gym's activities while on duty, helping to create a safe, positive, and focused environment for gymnasts and staff alike.

At Arabian Gymnastics, the term squad refers to all gymnasts within the club, including those in Women's Artistic, General Gymnastics, and Recreational programs. This role involves coaching across all levels and disciplines, ensuring every gymnast receives high-quality support appropriate to their individual goals and potential.

Primary responsibilities include supporting and guiding all Arabian gymnasts through excellent coaching, instruction, and supervision, while also nurturing the wellbeing and development of both gymnasts and coaching staff through positive mentoring, motivation, and leadership.

Additionally, you will support the club's marketing efforts by helping to keep platforms such as Facebook and the website up to date with news and events, contributing to the club's visibility and the attraction of new members.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in both coaching and team management.

You'll be self-motivated, highly organised, and confident in taking initiative--seeing tasks through from start to finish with energy and commitment. Just as importantly, you'll have agenuine passion for helping and supporting children to learn in a positive, encouraging environment. You'll foster a growth mindset by demonstrating a flexible approach to both your work and the evolving needs of the gym.

Key Duties & Responsibilities - Operational Management



Planning and Delivering Training Sessions

Design and deliver structured gymnastics sessions for gymnasts across all programs (Women's Artistic, General, Recreational and Pre-School), in line with the club's coaching philosophy and schedule. Adapt sessions to suit the age, ability, and development goals of individual gymnasts.

Skill Development and Progression



Teach and correct gymnastics techniques across all apparatus safely and effectively. Monitor gymnast progress and implement development plans, including goal setting and achievement tracking.

Competition Preparation



Prepare eligible gymnasts for local, regional, and national competitions where applicable. Support competition entry processes, routine development, and mental readiness. Attend competitions as a coach, offering feedback and encouragement.

Health, Safety, and Welfare



Ensure a safe and inclusive training environment, adhering to all safeguarding, health, and safety protocols. Respond appropriately to incidents or injuries and maintain accurate records.

Communication and Liaison



Communicate regularly and positively with parents, gymnasts, and fellow coaches. Attend staff meetings and contribute to collaborative planning and problem-solving.

Mentoring and Role Modelling



Serve as a positive role model, promoting respect, discipline, and a growth mindset. Foster teamwork and a welcoming environment for all gymnasts.

Administrative Duties



Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and incidents. Participate in gymnast assessments and reviews.

Professional Development



Keep coaching qualifications up to date and participate in relevant CPD activities. Stay current with gymnastics trends, technical updates, and best practices.

Club Contribution



Support and participate in club-wide events, shows, and open days. Collaborate with all coaching staff to maintain a consistent and high-quality gymnastics programme. Help maintain the club's social media pages, ensuring content is engaging, up to date, and reflective of current events and achievements. Assist in providing the Arabian Gymnastics website with fresh content to promote the club and attract new members. Support the upkeep of club materials ensuring accuracy and relevance
The goal of each coach is to help every gymnast achieve their personal best. Coaches are also encouraged to grow professionally and strive toward their own highest potential.

As part of our close-knit team, your duties may evolve to meet the changing needs of the club which may include supporting a variety of different classes and squads, and we value a flexible, can-do attitude to support wherever you're most needed.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21-16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 - 25 per week
