The Technician is responsible for the preparation, configuration, and quality assurance of electronic hardware devices and supporting systems. The role demands exceptional attention to detail and a disciplined approach to following processes that ensure consistency, accuracy, and zero-fault outcomes.
Working on a shift rota that covers Monday through Sunday, the technician will be based on-site and will play a critical role in ensuring that hardware devices are built, tested, and maintained to the highest standard. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on precision, consistency, and quality in hardware and device management.
Key Responsibilities:
Assembly, Configuration & Preparation
: Follow defined procedures to prepare, configure, and validate hardware devices, ensuring consistency across all builds.
Quality Control & Testing
: Apply rigorous checks and processes to ensure all hardware and systems meet required standards before release, aiming for zero defects.
Process Compliance
: Adhere to operational policies, data handling standards, and regulatory requirements, contributing to audit readiness and compliance.
Inventory & Records Maintenance
: Keep track of hardware stock levels, device status, and operational activities across relevant systems to maintain accuracy and availability.
Problem Solving
: Identify, investigate, and resolve hardware and device issues, escalating where necessary to maintain service continuity.
Collaboration & Support
: Work closely with colleagues across technical, operations, and installation teams to enable smooth delivery and continuous improvement.
Continuous Improvement
: Provide feedback and contribute to refining build processes, tools, and documentation to improve efficiency and reliability.
Candidate Profile
Required Skills & Experience:
1-2 years' work experience in electronic hardware assembly, technical operations, or device management.
Practical experience working with equipment such as routers, switches, IoT devices, smart sensors, or consumer electronics.
Skills in configuring devices, applying firmware/software updates, troubleshooting connectivity, and performing device resets or refurbishments.
Demonstrated ability to follow structured processes with high accuracy.
Strong focus on quality control, precision, and defect prevention.
Organised, methodical, and able to manage priorities in a shift-based environment.
Confident using digital systems and portals for tracking and reporting.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work as part of a wider technical team.
Due to the location of the office, a full driving license and access to your own vehicle are required.
Desirable:
Background in device configuration, networking equipment, IoT, or hardware service delivery.
Awareness of data protection, information security, and compliance requirements.
An interest in continuous improvement, lean processes, and building robust quality systems.
