The Business Development Executive is responsible for opening new airline accounts and expanding 3TOP Aviation Services' customer base. This is a mixed focused role requiring regular attendance at aviation conferences, industry events, and trade shows. The ideal candidate will be confident, outgoing, and proactive--able to initiate meaningful conversations with unknown prospects, gather key contact details, and secure meeting opportunities for the internal sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Generation & Relationship Building
Identify and approach potential airline and MRO customers to introduce 3TOP's services.
Attend industry conferences or networking events to prospect and develop business relationships.
Engage confidently with new contacts and decision-makers
Collect, log, and qualify leads using CRM systems, ensuring all contact information is accurately recorded.
Arrange and book follow-up meetings for the Sales Executive or Sales Manager to develop the opportunity further.
Market Research & Targeting
Conduct pre-event research to identify high-priority prospects and targets.
Understand airline/MRO profiles, fleet types, and buying patterns to tailor engagement efforts.
Monitor competitors and market trends to identify opportunities for differentiation.
Internal Collaboration
Work closely with the Sales Manager and Sales Executives to align on strategic targets.
Share insights from events to help guide pushlists, market focus, and outbound strategy.
Provide feedback on prospect interests and buying signals to refine messaging.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
Maintain a structured log of outreach activity, meetings scheduled, and follow-ups completed.
Provide a monthly report summarizing events attended, leads captured, and meetings booked.
Track conversion of leads into active opportunities and contribute to quarterly business development goals.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Number of new qualified leads generated per event
Number of meetings booked for Sales Executives/Sales Manager
Contact quality and completeness in CRM
Quarterly event attendance and activity level
Lead-to-opportunity conversion rate (in collaboration with sales team)
Feedback from internal stakeholders on lead quality and alignment
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; must be outgoing and approachable
Confident in initiating conversations with senior buyers and stakeholders at events
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in lead tracking and reporting
Willingness to travel monthly to industry events across the region or internationally
Familiarity with CRM systems and lead generation tools
