Job Description

Willmotts Transport is one of the largest independent warehousing and distribution companies in the South West, based in Waterlip just outside of Shepton Mallet, Due to continued growth and success, we are looking to appoint a Business Development Executive to join our team and support the next phase of our business development.

The Business Development Executive plays a key role in supporting the growth and client acquisition strategy of the company. This role involves providing administrative, research, and coordination support to the Business Development team, helping to identify opportunities, manage relationships, and maintain sales pipelines efficiently.

Responsibilities:



Reporting into the Head of Sales and Customer Services, you will assist with day-to-day operations, including scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and updating CRM systems. Conduct market and competitor research to support lead generation and business growth initiatives. Maintain and manage the sales pipeline, ensuring data accuracy and timely follow-up with leads. Support proposal and bid writing processes by gathering information, formatting documents, and meeting deadlines. Coordinate internal communications related to business development efforts (e.g., project updates, client feedback, progress reports). Liaise with internal departments to ensure client needs are being met and proposals align with company capabilities. Prepare and distribute reports and presentations on sales performance and growth forecasts. Provide administrative support to the wider Sales team as needed. Oversee and execute the business marketing strategy inclusive of all social media platforms.

Key Skills:



Previous experience in a sales support, business development, or administrative role is preferred. Strong organisational and multitasking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and strong time management skills. A proactive and professional approach to internal and external communication.

Additional Details:



Hours of Work - Monday to Friday hours 08:30 - 17:30 Annual bonus share based upon business profitability 28 days holiday inclusive of Bank Holidays After 2 year's unbroken service employees will receive an additional day's holiday which will increase by an extra day (pro rata where necessary) after each additional full years' service up to a maximum of 3 days.
