Role Overview



The

BDM

is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities to drive revenue growth and market expansion. This is a strategic, outward-facing role requiring a blend of commercial acumen, relationship-building, and executional excellence. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to expand our customer base and build long-term, high-value partnerships.

Key Responsibilities



Strategic Growth & Pipeline Management



Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive growth across target sectors.

Identify and qualify high-value opportunities through market research, networking, and inbound/outbound initiatives
Build and manage a strong, sustainable sales pipeline with accurate forecasting and reporting.

Relationship Management



Establish and grow relationships with key decision-makers, stakeholders, and industry influencers.

Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings.

Deal Development & Closing



Lead the end-to-end sales process: from opportunity identification to pitch, proposal, negotiation, and contract close.

Prepare compelling presentations, business cases, and commercial proposals tailored to client needs.

Collaborate internally to structure and finalise deals.

Internal Collaboration



Work closely with marketing, product, and delivery teams to align offerings with market demand. Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to inform product/service innovation. Should be flexible in role and comfortable being involved in completion of PQQ, AVL, estimates & proposals

Key KPIs & Metrics



Revenue growth from new clients Pipeline velocity and conversion rate Client acquisition cost (CAC) Average deal size and margin Strategic partnerships formed

Skills & Experience Required



Essential:



5+ years of proven experience in B2B business development, sales, or partnerships Strong understanding of consultative sales and solution selling Proven track record of meeting/exceeding targets in high-value deals Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills Comfortable working independently and driving results in a fast-paced environment Established and mature customer network

Desirable:



Experience in any of the following industry sectors, but multi-industry beneficial: O&G, Nuclear, Defence, Renewables, CCUS or Infrastructure. Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot) Strategic mindset with strong commercial instincts Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Experience working in the UK and/or Middle East
