What do we want?
A brilliant opportunity for an enthusiastic Business Development Manager interested in joining an established events production business working with global award-winning brands and immersive seasonal events. We are in a period of growth and need an experienced sales person to identify opportunities, convert leads and support our business ambitions.
About the role:
You will be working as a key member of the team at our HQ in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Located in the village of Bentham, our facilities include: offices, meeting rooms, workshop, outdoor working spaces, and an old orchard and paddock for that lunchtime walk or thinking space.
Duties will include, but are not exclusive to:
Identifying opportunities for business with new clients, building strong pipelines and converting leads to support three key brands following growth strategies within the business.
Retaining and uplifting existing client relationships/sales to support an event production target of 850k+ per year
Develop sponsorship opportunities for our flagship Winter Event, and sell sponsorship, supporting a target of 100k.
Develop new business opportunities for Tarren Production furniture hire following a key strategy in the Gloucestershire region supporting a target of 200k
Leading and implementing the delivery of the sales strategy and process for prospecting, identifying opportunities, lead generation and engaging with existing and potential clients to support conversion and keep internal client documentation updated
Proven track record and ability to generate leads, drive business growth and opportunities, convert sales and build long term client relationships with both existing and new customers
Excellent commercial sales and management skills, supporting the budgeting process to accurately monitor spend, profit margin and ROI
Reporting on key sales accounts and pipeline to senior team on a weekly/monthly basis
Build and maintain strong relationships both internally and with external clients, agencies, suppliers etc.
Work closely with the Production Manager - Operations to meet and exceed the client's needs and expectations in the delivery of events and support building retention in all clients
Line manage other members of staff (where applicable)
About you:
You will have a minimum of 3-5 years sales experience with the ability to identify opportunities and upsell where possible. You will also have the ability to sell to both B2B and B2C markets, ideally your experience will be within the events and hospitality sector
You will have a minimum of 3-5 years new business experience with a proven track record of securing and uplifting business in line with an annual sales target
We are looking for a commercially led, business minded individual to lead our client relationships and new business activity. With a professional approach and determination to deliver a sales strategy across multiple revenue streams, to achieve a combined sales in excess of 2 million with stretch targets year on year.
Excellent project management abilities with the greatest attention to detail and follow-through
Likes sales data and measuring success, including finding new ways to make sales and increase profits
Ability to write and create effective and engaging sales communications for multiple platforms, outlets and audiences
You will be an excellent communicator, team player and networker.
You will love chasing and winning sales and thrive on being target driven.

The Important bit:
Location: Based in our office in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. (also on location at events where necessary, and will involve some evening and weekend hours, especially around our Winter events).
Contract: Full time, 40 hours / week. (6 month initial probationary period).30 days annual leave (inc bank holidays), company pension.
