Business Development Manager Responsiblities:




Target key customers to gain access to key decision makers and establish a new business pipeline.

Highly motivated individual who thrives on finding and developing new business opportunities

Contacting potential new clients using phone and email to gauge interest, generate leads and nurturing long term prospects over the phone, and or virtual meetings

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers

Conduct market research to identify new and potential customers whilst growing a new business pipeline

Build and maintain strong relationships with new clients, understanding their full needs and requirements to provide suitable profitable solutions

Present solution proposal and business fit to internal decision makers

Facilitate hand over from solution team to project implementation team, internal stakeholder management

Conduct opportunity assessment for identified opportunities, develop recommendation on pursuit/cancellation based on financial, risk and fit of customer requirements.

To update and maintain the CRM system with information on all conversations and opportunities

Present solutions to customer demonstrating clear business value, engage in negotiations to deal award

Negotiate contracts and close new business deals

Stay updated on Industry development and maintain a thorough understanding of competitive landscapes

Provide market feedback to inform product and strategy development

Represent the company at industry events, conferences and networking opportunities



What do you need to be a Business Development Manager?




Degree or equivalent

Proven track record in business development or similar role, ideally within SaaS B2B environment

Knowledge of UK road and logistics market, including current trends

Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decisions markers

Excellent organisational and time management skills to prioritise tasks and deadlines

Experience in taking a product to market

Comfortable working in a fast paced, scale-up environment

Self motivated and result orientated mindsets. The ability to adopt to changing market conditions

Strong written, verbal, presentation communication skills,Strong Negotation skils, proficient user of Microsoft Office, preferably with advanced knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, ADOBE, and Excel. Proficient in CRM systems, Experience in RFI/RFQ management, Understanding of sales process in relation to 4PL
