This role is new within Kadans' UK team and is modelled on successful roles within our European organisation. As Business Development Manager, you will play a central role in attracting new tenants to our UK portfolio. You will focus on generating and converting leads into rental transactions, directly contributing to the occupancy of our science and innovation sites.
You will support the wider Business Development team by identifying prospects, building relationships and carefully managing the process from first contact through to contract. It is a role for someone who likes to see results from their work, picks up opportunities independently and feels at home in a goal-oriented environment. You will be part of a professional team and contribute to the further growth of our business in the UK.

Responsibilities
Your job is simple but powerful: look for potential tenants for our buildings. You are the eyes and ears of the business community, spotting opportunities, building relationships and introducing companies to our spaces. Whether it's a growing start-up, a scaling laboratory or an established company looking for a new location, you'll be there to make the connection.
What will you do?
You actively approach potential tenants and build relationships with both young start-ups and larger companies in sectors such as life sciences, biotech and high-tech.
You quickly identify commercial opportunities; you carefully assess leads and ensure proper follow-up in our leasing pipeline, aiming for successful leases.
At industry events, network meetings and ecosystem consultations, you represent Kadans and expand your network in a targeted way.
Together with colleagues from leasing, marketing and asset management, you translate prospects' needs into suitable space within our portfolio.
You carefully keep track of your contacts and progress in the CRM and ensure that your actions match your objectives.
Market developments do not escape you; you share what you see and hear with the team and thus help keep our commercial approach sharp.
Criteria
Naturally, we are primarily looking for a Business Development Manager who fits us well in terms of character, motivation and perspective. In addition, our ideal candidate is likely:
Comfortable reaching out to new people and building relationships with ease
Experienced in business development, sales or leasing; a background in real estate is helpful but not required
Clear and effective in both written and spoken communication
Proactive, curious and willing to take responsibility
Someone who enjoys working with people and can quickly recognise commercial opportunities
About the team
This is a good time to join Kadans in the UK. Our portfolio is growing, both in development and operational assets that are already adding value to our ecosystem. For example, MAYDE in King's Cross is now fully operational and houses a promising group of tenants. In addition to MAYDE, VERSA is currently under construction, as is Upper Brook Street in Manchester. We are also making strides in Cambridge: Merlin Place will be completed next year. In Glasgow, the new Health Innovation Hub will open in September. And in Canary Wharf, the next phase of construction of One North Quay - Europe's largest multi-tenant life sciences building - has started.
The position falls within Kadans' Asset Management division. This division is responsible for achieving our strategic, financial and operational objectives. Asset Management consists of three core teams: Property Management, Asset Management, and Business Development & Leasing. Due to the expansion of our portfolio, we are now also expanding the Business Development & Leasing team with key positions across Europe. Within the UK, the position is the responsibility of the Director Asset Management UK, reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer.
