Working closely with the Head of Business Development and Engagement, you will:

Coordinate and report on business development activity

Lead on grant and bid development, tender submissions, and strategic partnerships

Contribute to increasing Trevi's profile, influence, and impact

Job Purpose



We're looking for a commercially minded and values-driven Business Development Manager to support growth, retention and diversification of income.

Working closely with the Head of Business Development and Engagement, this post will be responsible for managing and reporting on business development activity, including grant and bid development, tender submissions and strategic partnerships. You will play an important role in contributing to the Business Development and Engagement Team goals, including increasing Trevi's profile, influence and impact.

This is a new post that offers real scope to shape Trevi's future income and be part of an ambitious, supportive, purpose-led team.

You'll be joining a team that collaborates closely to:



Grow and maintain engagement channels through a variety of platforms and tools

Drive engagement with stakeholders, individuals and corporates

Deliver high quality two-way communications internally and externally

Learn and improve based on ongoing monitoring and evaluation.

Manage, develop, and grow financial pathways through proactive outreach

This role will focus on:



Strategic development



Drive business development activity and evolve Trevi's income generation with a strategic and focused commercial mindset.

Identify, develop and launch income-generating opportunities in line with our mission.

Manage bid applications, collaborating with colleagues to ensure that quality bids are submitted on time.

Gather information on future business development opportunities and maintain a pipeline of opportunity to deliver consistent growth across all identified areas of the organisation.

Use business analysis and data to inform Trevi's development processes and to influence commissioners and funders.

Horizon scan and develop an understanding of the political and commissioning landscape and explore how Trevi can develop into these areas.

Proactively identify potential sources of funding for new and existing services.

Partnerships



Develop strong relationships with stakeholders including commissioners.

Develop and maintain a database of external stakeholders, ensuring that data is current and utilised to build stewardship plans.

Engage corporate prospects with a view to partner with and support Trevi through

donations, gifts-in-kind and sponsorship.

Monitor and meet KPIs as agreed.

Collaboration and delivery



Work collaboratively within the Business Development and Engagement Team to promote activity and drive income generation. Collaborate with service leads to co-develop services. Liaise with finance to track performance, forecast income and report impact.
Help embed a culture of innovation, collaboration, and sustainability across the organisation.

Person Specification



Essential Knowledge & Qualifications

Degree level qualification or equivalent professional experience.

Knowledge of commissioning processes or service level agreements.

Excellent knowledge of income generation and diversification

Understanding of effective working relationships across organisations and with external partners and stakeholders.

Desirable Knowledge & Qualifications

A robust understanding of local need.

Passionate and knowledgeable about women's rights and combatting VAWG.

Knowledge of commercial and traded services within charity sector

Essential Experience

Significant experience of business development in the charity or public sector.

Experience of bid writing within the not-for-profit, voluntary or public sector.

A proven successful track record of income generation.

Exceptional experience of developing professional relationships and networking

Experience in using Microsoft products, CRM databases and tools such as LinkedIn

Experience of developing reporting functions and processes

Desirable Experience

Experience of end-to-end tender management

Skilled in using LinkedIn Sales Navigator for lead generation and relationship management.

Essential Qualities and Skills

Sound judgement, financial acumen and risk assessment skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across a variety of formats.

Organised, efficient, self-motivated, and proactive.

Good team ethic.

Ability to work on own initiative.

Flexible approach to working hours (with ability to work hours to needs of the charity - this includes attending events during evenings and weekends.)

Experience of assessing growth opportunities including financial appraisal, TUPE considerations, risk assessments and implementation limitations.
