We are excited to be growing our Business Development Team through the addition of a second Business Development Manager, based at our Preston Head Office with hybrid working.
Travel across our sites will be required for this role.
About the role
We are looking for a passionate and driven business development specialist to expand our reach through local authority tenders and grant applications. You will play a pivotal role in identifying funding opportunities, developing tender preparation strategies, and overseeing quality tender submissions. You will understand the need for high-quality local intelligence and know how to gather information from academic research and local stakeholder engagement. You will foster partnerships both inside and outside of the organisation.
You will collaborate with operational colleagues and other stakeholders within n-compass to develop service models, budgets, and strategies for tenders and oversee all aspects of the tender process, including quality assurance, bid compliance, tender interviews/presentations and post-tender follow-up.
Reporting to the Business Development Director, and working alongside our existing Business Development Manager, you will help develop the long-term business development pipeline, identifying areas for development and upgrading systems/processes to enhance the organisation's competitive standing.
About you
You will be highly motivated with a proven track record in producing high quality tender submissions and through the selection process you will demonstrate:
Experience in writing tenders, bids and grant applications
The ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities
Strong research skills and the ability to learn our organisation, what makes us unique and special and how to demonstrate this through bid writing
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
