Our busy butcher's counter is a vital part of our farm shop and is known for its exceptional range of fresh cuts and prepared products.

The Role

We're looking for a friendly and reliable

Butcher's Counter Assistant

to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with

some butchery experience

, who enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Full carcass butchery is not required

, but you'll need a good understanding of meat preparation, handling, and counter service.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing and presenting meat products for sale Cut, trim, and portion meat to customer and display specifications Serve customers at the counter with professionalism and product knowledge Maintain hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards at all times Support the butchery team with general duties and stock rotation Help ensure the counter remains well-stocked and attractively presented

What We're Looking For

Some experience in a butchery or meat counter environment Knowledge of different meat cuts and safe food handling practices Positive attitude and a passion for good customer service Ability to work well as part of a team and independently Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic Food hygiene certification is a plus (training can be provided)
