About Cambridge Fibre

Cambridge Fibre Networks Ltd (CFN) is a

dynamic and independent

telecoms provider, offering full-fiber services for both residential and business customers. Our network infrastructure is primarily built using Openreach's Duct and Pole Access product, complemented by new construction where necessary.

The Role

As an Cable Installer, you'll play a crucial role in delivering

hyperspeed

internet to our customers. Your key role is to install the network in advance of home and business installations.
Your responsibilities will include:

Infrastructure Installation:

Pulling in subduct tubing, connecting telephone poles, and installing underground distribution enclosures.

Fiber Testing and Installation:

Proving the integrity of premise tubes using compressed air to send calibration bullets, followed by installing fibre optic cable with a blowing machine.

Cabinet Maintenance:

Dressing and presenting streetside cabinets to the highest standards.

Network Maintenance:

Troubleshooting and repairing fiber optic networks.

Requirements:

Valid Driving License

PIA Credentials (Safety Underground, Safety Overhead, Installation Underground, Installation Overhead, Confined Space)

NRSWA Accreditation (mandatory)

Experience in fiber optics and telecoms (preferred) Strong problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional on-call duties
